DKV MOBILITY SERVICES Group publishes second CSR Report
30 percent fewer CO₂-emissions in business traffic / Preparations for ISO 14001 certification / Ambitious targets to 2020
The DKV MOBILITY SERVICES Group based in Ratingen today presents its second Sustainability Report. It provides the reader with a transparent overview of the sustainability activities of the mobility service provider and covers activities in the areas Market, Environment, Employees and Society. The report can be downloaded from the company’s website.
“Although the DKV Group employed 7.9 percent more people in 2016 compared to the previous year, CO2 emissions in the head office have only risen by 1 percent compared to the previous year,” stated CSR Manager Linda Saal. In business traffic (company cars, business travel) the consistent use of the CO2 compensation card DKV CARD CLIMATE with all company cars and a significant reduction in business travel by air enabled CO2 emissions to be reduced by 30 percent compared to the previous year (2015).
Preparations for ISO 14001 certification
At the same time DKV is preparing for ISO 14001 certification, the international standard for environmental management. It's not only our customers who like to know how DKV stands on the issue of sustainability. Environmental certification to standards such as ISO 14001 is also becoming increasingly important in external tenders. Currently, the audit will systematically cover the relevant processes in toll, fuel and vehicle services. A first audit in cooperation with TÜV Rheinland is planned for the end of October. Certification is then expected to follow by the end of November.
Ambitions targets to 2020
The DKV Group wants to save in total around 10 percent of CO₂ emissions by 2020 compared to 2015. To this end, the company will use products which are on the one hand recyclable and will reduce transport routes on the other. These include for example the DKV BOX EUROPE, which will be in use in the medium term to bill all road, tunnel and bridge tolls in Europe. It will no longer need to be replaced when additional countries are added, but works with a contactless over-the-air configuration. The DKV Group would also like to expand its electromobility portfolio.
