DKV Euro Service Benelux are proud of their 2018 Alpe d’HuZes performance We Cycle, We Care. We Walk, We Care.

This year, in addition to its annual support of the Alpe d’Huzes Logistics Team, DKV Euro Service Benelux actively joined the Alpe d’HuZes event, bringing two teams. Last Tursday, June 7, after many months of training, the DKV Benelux team managed to conquer Alpe d’Huez several times, either walking, running or cycling. The provisional proceeds of the 2018 Alpe d’HuZes contest have so far totalled an incredible 11.2 million euros.

Alpe d’HuZes is an event in which participants ascend the legendary Alpe d´Huez summit either by walking, running or cycling up to six times on a single day in order raise as much money as possible in the fight against cancer while adopting the motto: Giving Up Is No Option. DKV opted for this foundation and event as practically everyone at DKV has at some stage been confronted with the tragedy of this disease, sometimes remotely, often at close distance.

Gertjan Breij, managing director of DKV Euro Service Benelux: “This year DKV Euro Service Benelux celebrates its 30th anniversary and we wished to share this special moment with the community that surrounds us. We think that, in order to make the difference, we must look beyond the transport industry as it is. Apart from being a reliable and innovative service provider to our customers, we also wish to contribute in the area of corporate social responsibility. For this reason our DKV slogan was extended this year from ‘You drive, we care’ to ‘We walk, we care’ and ‘We cycle, we care’.”

Greta Lammerse, who was among the DKV personnel that took part in Alpe d’Huzes 2018 last week: “This was a very special experience; one that we will always carry with us. We are proud of having managed to more than achieve all our financial and personal targets. This would not have been possible without all sponsors and our colleagues who held the fortress during our absence and we are very grateful to them.”

Donations to our teams are still more than welcome at
