DKV appoints Pieter van Wel as new Managing Director

Pieter van Wel (52) has been appointed new Managing Director of DKV Euro Service Benelux BV as per 15 September 2020.

In his new role he will be reporting to Guillaume Cunty, Sales Director Western Europe.

DKV is market leader in cash-free service en route for the benefit of the European transport industry. Apart from the DKV fuel card, DKV also provides tolls services that enable truck drivers all over Europe to settle their toll charges easily. Another product included in DKV’s large service portfolio is its refund service, by which European transport firms can reclaim their diesel duties and the VAT paid on their foreign purchases.

In the short term Van Wel will be focusing his efforts on general recovery in the wake of the corona crisis by charting the needs of DKV’s customers and prospects and living up to their requirements even better. In addition the company aims for quick expansion of its product package by introducing innovations in various areas, like DKV LIVE, which is about to be launched.

Guillaume Cunty, DKV’s Sales Director Western Europe: “With Pieter, DKV has managed to attract a proven leader with a huge knowledge of the market. Wherever he appeared in the past he demonstrated his capacity of pushing organisations upwards, and we are fully confident that he will do the same here as well. At DKV’s sister company Remobis he contributed greatly to product automation and digitalisation. In this way he braced our business in this sector for future growth.”

Pieter van Wel: “I am very much looking forward to realise innovative and concrete solutions together with our team and our customers; solutions which will bring added value to our customers and to DKV as well. That’s what I am good at. Backed by my directness and working pleasure I will always ask myself: what is the concrete benefit for both parties? This is how I always used to work and I will also use this quality in my work for DKV.”

Van Wel is currently Managing Director of Remobis Refund Service B.V., DKV’s sister company, and Alfa Transport Service. Lately he surveyed and managed major transitions for companies like ING, ENGIE and Vodafone in the position of interim manager. Before this, he acted in senior management positions at companies like FedEx Logistics and Transcom.
