Our ESG Ambition

With our ESG strategy, we are establishing ESG at the heart of our company purpose:

To drive the transition towards an efficient and sustainable future of mobility.

Our ESG strategy is centered around three core commitments which have been determined as strategic priorities within the dimensions of environment, social, and governance.

Berglandschaft mit Autobahn

Environment

In 2021, we took leadership in our industry with the goal to reducing the corporate carbon footprint by ~50% compared to 2019 and to help our customers decrease their fleet carbon intensity by 30% by 2030.

True to our ambition to LEAD IN GREEN, we will keep actively promoting the transition towards a sustainable future of mobility – whether through our products and services or within our own business operations.

Social

Our commitment as an employer has been recognized with a Great Place to Work® certificate in Germany and Italy and the Top Employer award in Germany. We feel a strong commitment to society. Our workplace culture is governed by the principles of team spirit, respect, diversity and a family-friendly work environment.

We are convinced that a diverse workforce and a culture of respect and inclusion are the cornerstones for growth, success, and innovation both at DKV Mobility and in Society.

Governance

At DKV Mobility, we aspire to act in an environment of trust, transparency and accountability in the interests of all stakeholders. We conduct systematic risk, information-security and data-protection management systems that enable us to detect possible risks in time. From a procurement perspective, we intend to position DKV Mobility Group as a “customer of choice” and ensure all main indirect suppliers comply with our Code of Conduct (CoC).

Sustainable Products & Services

Truck and fleet customers are facing increasing complexity driven by the energy transition and by regulation.

By providing our customers with sustainable products and services that enable them to manage the ongoing transition more efficiently, we intend to play an active role in this process.

As an agent for change we are matchting the new lower-carbon energy supply with customer demands and provide all the necessary products and services making this transition as efficient and successful as possible.

Electric vehicles are crucial to decarbonize road transport and meeting climate goals. We will help accelerate the transition of our customers’ fleets towards zero-emission vehicles. Our mission is to build Europe’s largest e-roaming network for EV-charging at public charging points and to provide our customers with the best-possible charging experience, regardless of where they prefer to charge - at work, at home or on the road.

It is our ambition to be at the forefront of boosting the use of alternative-energy sources in road transport by offering the biggest independent network for alternative-fuel filling stations in Europe. While the public debate focuses on vehicle technology, namely battery-electric vehicles (BEV) and hydrogen, it is important to consider all green options based on well-to-wheel emissions, regardless of the technology used.

It is our ambition to enable Europe's drivers, dispatchers and fleet managers to efficiently manage and operate their business fleets with the needed emphasis on the sustainability of their mobility. We are thriving to achieve this by providing the digital toolchain, (real-time) transparency and options for process automation which allow for saving emissions.

It is our clear ambition to offer our customers the most convenient toll-payment solution for all types of vehicles in wider Europe. Our toll boxes enable drivers to continue their journeys uninterrupted, thereby easing traffic flows and reducing jams, preventing climate-damaging emissions in the process. With our cross-border toll-payment device “DKV Box Europe” we offer our customers the ability to settle truck tolls in several countries throughout Europe with only one toll box.

It is one of our priorities and our responsibility to avoid and reduce carbon emissions where possible. However, for the vast majority of our customers, it is still impossible to effectively run their business without combustion-engine fleets. In this case, voluntarily supporting climate protection projects is an option of contributing to climate protection.

DKV Card NGO

Successful entrepreneurship and sociopolitical responsibility are inextricably linked. Social commitment has always been part of DKV Mobility's identity. This is another reason why we have committed ourselves to the guidelines of the UN Global Compact.

Associations, non-profit limited liability companies, social initiatives, they all form the pillars of our community of solidarity. We would like to say thank you for this and give a small part back with our products, with financial resources and with helping hands.

For non-profit customers in Germany, we now offer the DKV Card NGO, a subsidized fuel card product:

  • free of charge
  • fuel and support climate protection projects - we pay the climate protection contribution
  • one card for all services

In principle, only organizations that operate as a tax-privileged corporation or association, on a non-profit basis on a voluntary basis or work for the benefit of the general public are eligible.
