What you need to know about the truck toll in the United Kingdom

In the United Kingdom exists a toll for trucks in the form of a time-based charge (HGV* Road User Levy) for the use of all public roads. Foreign trucks, starting at 12t permissible total weight are subject to the tax. Coaches are exempt from the charge.

Please note that the HGV Levy (applies to trucks >= 12 t permissible total weight) is suspended from 01 August 2020 to 31 July 2021, i.e. for a period of 12 months, due to COVID-19.

The charge must be paid BEFORE the vehicle enters the UK. Additionally, the M6toll (PDF) can be settled easily by using the DKV CARD.
