The rolling highway is a combined railway transport system. Trucks or trailer are placed on a special train for further transport.
Combined railway transport is a safe and usually faster alternative for road transport. Sunday and holiday driving bans are no longer an issue. During trips, drivers can rest in separate passenger coaches with seats or sleeping facilities. The duration of the journey is officially regarded as a rest period.
